Twenty-seven years ago, founders Tim & Carol bought a derelict chicken ranch in the Chileno Valley of Marin County, California. At the time, they wanted a place to be outdoors with our little boys. They also wanted to be part of the Marin rural agricultural community we admired as Marin Agricultural Land Trust inception supporters. The ranch has since become a home, and with each year, olive harvest has continued to grow. Today, Chileno Valley Olive Oil produces small-batch, 100% organic extra virgin olive oil made from 140 Italian varietal olive trees.
The company needed a website to showcase the beauty and craftsmanship behind their olive oil. This project also included on-site product photography of the ranch and the olive oil.
What makes Chileno Valley Olive Oil so unique? The ranch from which it's made. So when we approached the web design, we knew we wanted the ranch to tell the story. The site is a visual brand story that leverages high-quality imagery paired with brief, impactful narrative to showcase the unique product. Knowing that prospective customers would not be buying oil directly from the site, we opted for a simple, captivating layout that communicates essential information and entices visitors to inquire for more information.
The Chileno Valley ranch is truly a home as well a working olive grove. My goal was to capture its warm and charm. The ranch served as a perfect backdrop for our product shots as well. The blues, greens, and yellows that make up this part of Northern California inspired the shoot.
